
TOP TIPS FOR COPING WITH STRESS
Stress comes with a strong feeling that prevents you from living your life to the fullest. Here are a few tips on how to conquer daily stress:
1. Alone time. There are so many benefits from spending some time alone. Take some time for yourself to fully relax and do things you might enjoy: reading, sleeping, dancing, drawing, taking a bath, watching your favourite film.
2. Deep Breathing. Simply close your eyes, breath deeply and slowly. You can breath in for four counts, hold breath in for four counts and exhale for four counts. Daily breathing practice can help you reduce stress.
3. Writing can be a great way of dealing with stress and can take as little as 5 minutes a day. Journaling can help you to reflect on your feelings and it’s a great way of exploring any triggers to your behavior patterns. Daily journaling practice might help you with accepting yourself, your behaviours and your emotions.
4. Meditation can be hard but has so many benefits! There are plenty of different meditation techniques, apps and free YouTube videos. I’m sure you will be able to find something for yourself. For more tips, check out my “How to meditate” post.
5. Laughter is the best medicine, right? That’s one of the reasons I constantly try to joke around during my yoga classes! I think humor can be a great way on stimulating your brain into responding in less anxious ways. To reduce stress watch comedy shows, listen to funny podcasts, read funny books or simply laugh with your friends to reduce your stress!
6. I just LOVE doing slow and stretchy classes when I feel stressed. It releases so much tension from my body and the slow pace of classes, allows me to connect with my breath. If you want to join in one of my yummy stretchy classes, check out my schedule or go to my YouTube channel!
